easy Eyeliner (Basic, Dropped, Winged)

Proverbs 14:27The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.

-------------------------------------------

Eye Lining or Applying Eyeliner is the first thing I learned when I start on make up. This are not a PRO TIP, but tips and techniques I learned from different sources. I'm also sharing some tricks that I learned by myself which I found easier whenever i'm doing my eyeliner and maybe a good trick that may help you as well.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting Tips:

  • Choose your tools and product-  Find the easiest eyeliner for you to use. It could be a Liquid Liner with a felt or brush tip, eye pencil or gel liners.
  • Take baby steps- No one gets their eyeliner perfect at their first try! If you failed at your first attempt, "I can feel you bro". Why don't you try on doing "tracing lines" before swiping the whole product on your lid. Create small dots on the parts where your eyeliners is going to pass.
  • Start at the end :)- It maybe crazy to start the eyeliner at the end of the eyeliner, right? But this is the easiest trick, trust me. Instead of starting the eyeliner on the inner corners, try doing it reversely (start on the outer corner then working your way in). By doing this, you can control the thickness/ thinness and style of your line.
  • T-then-T tip!- "thick then thin" or "thin then thick". If your starting your eyeliner in the inner corners then start by making thin lines, create thicker line as you make your way at the end. If your starting your line on the outer corners then start with a thick line making it thinner as you work your way in. The line should usually be slightly thicker on the outside, and thinner the closer you are to the nose.

Easy Eyeliner (Basic, Dropped, Winged)

Basic

Follow the natural shape of your eye. Line as close to the lashline as possible. Start on the inner corners with thin lines and creating thicker lines as you reach the end of the eyes. Stop on the outer corners of the eyes without winging it or extending the liner down. Remember, you only want to add definition on your eyes.

Winged (Cat eye)

For a more dramatic/romantic and sexy look. Cat eye is the best choice for most women.

Follow the line of your lower lashline to know where you would lift your eyeliner and follow the tip of your eyebrows to know where you should stop extending your eyeliner (represented by red lines).  Create a triangular line to keep in track of the parts that your going to fill (represented by white lines). Make thin lines on the inner corners then connect it to the triangular line. Fill in the triangular line or the wing with thickness of your liking.

Dropped (puppy eye)

Looking for a more Innocent look? I suggest dropping your line!

Start with the basic eyeliner. But instead of stopping at the end of your outer lashline, extend your line by following the dropping section of your outer V. You can stop before you reach the end or stopping at the end of your outer v. Extending the line outside the outer V may look too much or unpleasant.

This type of line may be tricky for people with deep crease.

  • Ulzzang is an extremely popular type of beauty look in both Korea and other Asian countries. Ulzzang is a Korean term where “ul” is short for “ulgul” which means “face” in Korean, while “zzang” can be defined as “wow” The eyeliner was obviously the star of the whole look! Dropping the eyeliner and filling in the rest of the outer V on the lower lashline is the basic type and style.

  • "Tightlining/ tighline" is the most known technique for creating an illusion of thicker lashes! Just fill in the whole upper lashline with a black eyeliner and you'll achieve an easy peasy, not "done" look. Very natural looking as well.
  • Concealing the under eyes will keep the eyeliner in place.
  • Dabbing a same colored powder eyeshadow on the top of you eyeliner will keep it from running, smudging and fading during the day. It'll also help the eyeliner to stay longer!
  • Using a WHITE eyeliner on the water line will create an illusion of bigger and brighter eyes.
  • Liquid liner gives more solid lines and bolder effect. though it glides smoothly, it requires a steady hand for precise line. A neat yet dramatic is the look that liquid liner offers.
  • Gel liner have a more buildable texture. Gel/cream eyeliners are also extremely flexible; you can apply it heavily with ease, or you can smear it a little.
  • Pencil are commonly used by beginners. Easy to handle but using this will be hard if you're trying to achieve perfect angles and lines.
  • Pencil + same colored powder shadow will give a sultry and smoky effect to the eyes.
  • Heating the eye pencil with a lighter will make the color of your eyeliner more vibrant. light up for 3 seconds and wait for it to cool down before applying.

    • If you're having trouble on coating your lower lashes with a mascara. try using a waterproof liquid liner.
